About Sydney
Sydney is a biologist with a passion for conservation, climate, and sustainability. She completed her MSc work in southern Alberta researching native pollinators and has a diverse skillset covering a variety of fields. She continues to devote her time to conservation- and environmentally-focused nonprofit organizations. She has published several peer-reviewed scientific papers towards the conservation of native bees, see more here.
Sydney is a Métis citizen of Canada and enjoys spending her free time photographing insects, writing, painting, volunteering, or hiking with her dogs.

The catalyst that inspires or, in some cases, deepens a passion is often serendipitous in nature. Unexpected, and yet powerful enough to alter a path toward something more fulfilling. Originally enrolled in the highly competitive paleontology program, Sydney Worthy made the decision to pivot to conservation biology in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences after her first year, recognizing that it was more closely aligned with her interests and professional goals.
